FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Information on reservations, campus facilities, transport and security at Hinkley and Sedgemoor Campus...

  • RESERVATIONS

What happens if I don't have a Site Access Pass (SAP) number?

If you are new to the project and have not yet been issued with a SAP number (perhaps you are attending induction or visiting the site) we will require confirmation in writing from your employer that you are involved with the HPC project.  If attending an induction at SEIC an emailed copy of your invitation to induction is sufficient.

How far in advance can I make a reservation?

We recommend you book as far in advance as possible.  The campuses are very popular, and reservations are taken on a first come, first served basis.

Is there a minimum length of stay policy?

The Campuses and Brean Sands are all 4-night minimum stay.

*This is subject to change without notification*

Will the room rates be changing?

There are no plans to amend bedroom rates, however, as with all hotel accommodation, we are able to yield rates on occupancy levels over 85% - another incentive to book early!

Can I leave my belongings in the room if I am away for the weekend?

We do not provide storage facilities on campus.  Should you wish to leave your personal belongings on campus whilst you are away from work, then you will need to reserve and pay for your bedroom during this time.  No reduced rates are offered.

Can I have more than one car for my reservation?

Onsite parking is not guaranteed to campus residents. Parking needs to be pre-booked, and is on a first-come-first-served basis. Due to limited car parking spaces, a maximum of only one car is permitted per bedroom booked. The parking space can be used from 3pm on the day of your arrival, to 10am on the day of your departure. Outside of these times you must find suitable parking elsewhere.

Can I book at Sedgemoor campus, but use my parking at Hinkley Campus?

Should you be fortunate enough to reserve a parking space when booking accommodation, please note that your vehicle can only be parked at the campus at which you are staying.

How do I get to the Campus and how far away is it from the HPC site?

There are 2 Campuses – Hinkley and Sedgemoor, and the Brean Sands accommodation – Hinkley Campus is adjacent to HPC and has pedestrian access directly to site from the Campus.

Sedgemoor is located 10 minutes walk from Bridgwater town centre (approximately 30 minutes by complimentary bus from HPC).

Brean Sands is approximately 50 minutes from HPC and offers a bus timetable which is updated regularly to suit all shift patterns.

All current bus timetables can be found on www.teamhinkleyc.com

  • CAMPUS FACILITIES

Can HPC workers with no room booking use facilities such as the restaurant and bars?

Absolutely, and we encourage you to do just that. Enjoy dinner, a game of pool, or an entertaining evening in one of our bars with your mates. You don’t have to be staying – just badged.

Can I have a fridge in my room?

The electrical supply in our modular buildings does not have the capacity to run electrical appliances in the bedrooms, with the exception of those already installed e.g. a television. Should you require use of a fridge for medical purposes, please speak to a member of our reception team.

Can I have a cooking device in my room?

Unfortunately, the electrical supply does not allow for this. We therefore ask you to refrain from bringing any cooking devices, including, but not limited to, toasted sandwich makers, slow cookers, gas burners.

Our restaurants provide a good range of home-cooked local produce for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. There is also an all-day Deli and you are free to ‘take-out’.

Do you have a shop on Campus?

There are no shops, however there are vending machines which carry a variety of stock including snacks and soft drinks, toiletries and electrical paraphernalia.

    Is there a laundry facility?

Coin and card operated washing/drying machines are located outside, adjacent to the gym at Sedgemoor Campus and located between accommodation blocks 11 and 12 at Hinkley Campus. These machines are PPE Free.
