Front of House Trainer – Restaurant and Bars
• The Trainer reports to the Training Manager and is accountable for delivery, management and administrative elements of the training needs for front of house Team Members, incorporating, Restaurant and Bars. Including Health and Safety and compliance with all SOPs (Standard operating Procedures).
• Knowledgeable in Hospitality training practices, manages the process and contributes thoughtfully to the successful running of the campus, and the satisfaction of those who work in it, consistent with that success
• Provide training support and guidance to the F&B Management team
• Create and sustain a work environment that embraces the company vision, mission and values and ensures fair, equitable treatment of all Team Member
• Focus on the HOST brand essence – “A good night’s sleep means a good day’s work” in a Zero Harm environment through the guest centric touch points
• Ensures that all new employees are inducted and trained to the requirements of the relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Helps the Training Manager maintain up to date training and development plans
• Against the requirement of the relevant SOP ensures that all requisite training is carried out and recorded by the due date
• Works with the Training Manager and colleagues at all levels to help see to the preparation and running of the properties’ Professional Development Plans (PDP’s) and initiates and run appropriate standard training programmes
• The Trainer participates as a member of the HR Team
• Working with colleagues at all levels to deliver a consistent level of quality service

Qualifications for the job:
• At least 2 years’ experience in the same role
• Must be a graduate of a Training, hospitality or business course or its equivalent
• Must be an inspiring leader
• Must be strategic in their over-all approach
• Must be an intuitive communicator
• Must be an enabler
• Must always be able to say, ‘the buck stops at my desk’
• Excellent communication skills

Position summary:
The Trainer shares full responsibility with the Training Manager for maximizing the long- term operating performance of the HOST campus

Duties & responsibilities:
• Responsible for implementing the business strategies and HOST initiatives throughout all aspects of the induction and training function of the campuses
• You will establish the F&B Front of House over-all training plan
• You will attend weekly Food and Beverage and HR Meetings
• You will have knowledge and understanding of the F&B business Plan and objectives in relation to training, quality standards and achievement of budgeted targets and/or goals. You will also ensure understanding of this plan within the F&B team.
• Demonstrate proficiency in the training and development of Team Members across the front of house.
• Assist the Training Manager in overseeing all training requirements and ensure a competent ‘annual training calendar’ is implemented and delivered efficiently
• Assist the Training Manager in Identifying and assessing future and current training needs through job analysis, career paths, annual performance appraisals and consultation with line managers
• Conduct effective Team Member orientation sessions
• Monitor and evaluate training programs’ effectiveness
• Resolve any specific problems and tailor-fit programs, deploy a variety of training methods when necessary
• Maintain a keen understanding of training trends, developments and best practices
• Champion the brand philosophy and ensure alignment with brand strategy amongst all Team Members
• Demonstrate key drivers of guests’ satisfaction. Makes balanced decisions based on what is best for the customer, right for the business and supportive to all Team Members
• Participate in the reviews by the ManCom of guest satisfaction results and other data to identify areas for improvement
• Assist with the oversight ofthe development and management of the annual training budget
