Frequently Asked Questions

If you are new to the project and have not yet been issued with a SAP number (perhaps you are attending induction or visiting the site) we will require confirmation in writing from your employer that you are involved with the HPC project.  If attending an induction at SEIC an emailed copy of your invitation to induction is sufficient.

We recommend you book as far in advance as possible.  The campuses are very popular, and reservations are taken on a first come, first served basis. We would also suggest that when possible you book for a minimum of 28 consecutive days which entitles you to a reduced room rate of £20 per night on a room only basis.

At present there are no minimum length stays in place, although this is subject to change without notification.

On the opening of Hinkley campus special offers were put into place.  These came to an end on 3rd December 2018.  Prices are £25 per night Room Only, £20 per night Room Only (when booking for at least 28 consecutive nights).  There are no plans to amend bedroom rates, however, as with all hotel accommodation, we are able to yield rates on occupancy levels over 85% - another incentive to book early!

We do not provide storage facilities on campus.  Should you wish to leave your personal belongings on campus whilst you are away from work, then you will need to reserve and pay for your bedroom during this time.  No reduced rates are offered.

Onsite parking is not guaranteed to campus residents.  Parking needs to be pre-booked with our reservations team, and is on a first-come-first-served basis.  Due to limited car parking spaces, a maximum of only one car is permitted per bedroom booked.  The parking space can be used from 3pm on the day of your arrival, to 10am on the day of your departure. Outside of these times you must find suitable parking elsewhere.  Please refer to the transport link on our accommodation page which details the Park and Ride facilities.

Should you be fortunate enough to reserve a parking space when booking accommodation, please note that your vehicle can only be parked at the campus at which you are staying.

There are two campuses – Hinkley and Sedgemoor.  Hinkley campus is adjacent to HPC and in spring 2019 (STC) will have walking access directly to site from the campus.

Sedgemoor is located 10 minutes walk from Bridgwater town centre (approximately 30 minutes by complimentary bus from HPC).  Please check bus timetables on our ‘transport’ page which can be found in the accommodation section of our website.

Anyone who has been badged for site (Hinkley Point C) can use the facilities at the campuses.  The leisure facilities – gym, restaurant and bars are also open to (badged) non-residents.

Badged HPB workers are welcome to stay, and use, the facilities at Sedgemoor Campus only.

Absolutely, and we encourage you to do just that.  Enjoy dinner, a game of pool, or an entertaining evening in one of our bars with your mates.  You don’t have to be staying – just badged.

The electrical supply in our modular buildings does not have the capacity to run electrical appliances in the bedrooms, with the exception of those already installed e.g. a television. Should you require use of a fridge for medical purposes, please speak to a member of our reception team.

Unfortunately, the electrical supply does not allow for this. We therefore ask you to refrain from bringing any cooking devices, including, but not limited to, toasted sandwich makers, slow cookers, gas burners.
Our restaurants provide a good range of home-cooked local produce for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. There is also an all-day Deli and you are free to ‘take-out’.

There are no shops, however there are vending machines which carry a variety of stock including snacks and soft drinks, toiletries and electrical paraphernalia.

There is currently no laundry facility on either campus, however, plans are underway to have a laundrette installed on both campuses by summer 2019 (STC).
There is a laundrette 1.2 miles from Sedgemoor Campus. This is open 7 days a week, 14 hours a day for self service washes. Ironing services are also available.
